What I Wore Wednesday! Accessories! OOTD (Outfit of the Day)

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

So as many of you know, my website & YouTube channel are predominantly focused on everything beauty.  I normally discuss anything fashion related on other social networks (Twitter, Tumblr, & Facebook).  Starting this year, I decided to branch out a bit more and incorporate more of the fashion side of things (including bags, shoes, accessories, etc) on my YouTube & blog!

Lately I've been really into gold pieces with texture.  Usually anything with hardware, and/or different patterns, is something I'm typically an instant fan of.  The pieces I'm wearing with the outfit below all have different textures/hardware and I love how it all looks put together!  The bracelets can be worn  individually for a more simplistic look, or layer/stack them like I did.  I'm also a HUGE fan of scarves.  I love really big ones where you can double wrap it around your neck when it's really cold out.  I really love the two-print pattern of the scarf I wore this day. =)

You may have heard of HaulerDeals.com from my lovely friend Dulce-- but if you haven't, it's basically a website where you can get items we (a few selected gurus) wear, AT A DISCOUNTED RATE!  I think that this is SUCH a cool idea considering I'm always wanting things my friends are showing in their videos lol.  What better way to get them all on one site where it's WAY CHEAPER than the retail price?   (PS. I AM NOT GETTING PAID TO WRITE THIS OKAY? LOL).

Anyway, I hope you check out the site!  Let me know what you think of it!  We're coming up with some reeeeeally exciting things so I can't wait to share it with you all! :)

You can go directly to my name to see the items I'm showing in the pictures below.  I will be doing these types of videos every other week, so please leave me a comment on YouTube and let me know your feedback on these type of videos, and what you would like to see!

Here is a video basically reiterating what I mentioned above, while also showing everything you see in the pictures below!

Makeup Tutorial: Bronzed Out!!

Hi everyone!

As some of you may know, my friend Elessa (aka Pursebuzz), put together a beauty mixer a few weeks ago (dubbed BBC - Bows, Balloons, & Cupcakes) in San Diego. When I posted pictures from that day, I had a few people ask what I used/requested a tutorial. I ended up recreating this look for a birthday event... and decided to record myself so I could make a tutorial out of it!

Pictures of the look!

Some of the products used I received for consideration. Others I bought with my own money, or got them as presents! Regardless of how I get products, anything I use is badass. I won't show anything on here unless I like it!

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for ALL the support/love you've shown me!!!

Please comment the video & let me know what you guys think about voiceovers!! I know it's echo-y so it's not the best voiceover in the world.... but of course if you guys don't mind it, I'll probably invest in a mic and do these from time to time! You probably know I get really busy (this shows through in my lack of video making lol) so recording myself just getting ready & doing a voiceover later increases my chances of putting videos up!

Anywhoo-- if you have any requests for looks.. please post of them on my facebook page! I started using that a lot more often now! You can visit that here: http://www.facebook.com/macNC40

Also, if you have Twitter, you can follow me there & tweet me pictures as well! http://www.twitter.com/macNC40

Take Care!! I'll be seeing you all soon again!

Swatches: OCC (Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics) products for Spring 2011!

Hi guys!

Hope all is well with everyone! I'm back with a post about OCC's (Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics) new line for Spring 2011! I actually have a few other products I want to post about, but I HAAAAD to put those on the back burner to show you guys these new goodies!! I really can't contain myself when I get OCC products in the mail. Right when I get their package, I rip it open & immediately start swatching/taking pictures. ;)

This spring line will be debuting at The Makeup Show here in Los Angeles on February 26-27th, 2011 and include 6 new shades of lip tars, 6 loose colour concentrates, and 6 new shades of nail lacquer! The new line includes colors that can be used by those who like a more of a 'work friendly' type of look, as well as those who eat/live/breathe bold intense colors!

Here is a bit of background on the inspiration for this spring line:
"A reaction to the HD makeup craze, OCC encourages makeup artists and enthusiasts alike to bring their palette back to hi-res basics, with a series of resolute shades that bring back focus to the wearer. ...The collection capitalizes on runway trends that feature either sharply defined eyes and neutral lips, or bold, bright lips and barely-there washes of colour on the eyes."

*You can click on the pictures to enlarge.**

LIP TAR: $13.00 USD

INTERLACE:
Bold peachy neutral
TONE: Slightly greyed mauvey pink
BETA: Vivid, almost neon orange
REVERB:
Blood orange red

ANALOG: Golden tobacco leaf brown
LO-FI: Mint green – a mixing must

http://img.skitch.com/20110218-ertsjaccn7r5q7ctmib11by2s7.jpg

LOOSE COLOUR CONCENTRATE: $12.00 USD

ARTIFACT: Deep bronze with a subtle red shimmer
NOISE: Deep plum with pink/fuchsia shimmer
FLAWED: True old gold shimmer
HUM: Vibrant peach with strong pink shimmer
BITMAP: Hemp leaf green with subtle golden shimmer
DISTORTION: Deep, blackened navy shimmer

https://img.skitch.com/20110222-en7ac6ph3ujys9bxt1iju9bhr5.jpg

http://img.skitch.com/20110222-8gyepgrqhcuftncc2abudmpg24.jpg

NAIL LACQUER: $8.00 (not pictured)

AV: Pale grey with multi-coloured glitter
BETA: Vibrant nearly neon orange
ECHO: Deep sea teal
FLAWED: T anorexic gold shimmer
RADIATE: Intense neon red
RX: Vivid primary blue

Unfortunately I do not have the nail lacquers to show you, but based on the description, I feel like I'd be a fan of them all!

I apologize for not having any actual skin swatches for the loose colours. I'll try to take some soon (I did take some, but I didn't like how they turned out-- they weren't really true to color).

FIRST IMPRESSION FAVORITES:

LIP TAR: Interlace. Depending on your skin tone, Interlace (or Tone) lip tar would be a good fit for a plain lip while you really play up the eyes. On me, I like how Interlace looks! Another favorite is Beta. This color isn't for the timid! It's a wham-bam in your face kind of color and I LOVE it.

LOOSE COLOUR: I've noticed when it comes to loose shadows/pigments-- I duochromes catch my eye the most. This is no different! I love HUM! It is a gorgeous/intense peach that flashes with pink... ahhh so so pretty! It reminds me a bit of MAC's Motif eyeshadow, but of course-- MUCH better. Unfortunately I don't have that color (Motif) anymore to compare, so I'm just basing it on memory. I also really like Distortion. For some reason I don't wear navy colors too much-- but I think that'll get cut short now that I have this color. I can't wait to come up with looks combining both Hum & Distortion.

You can check out OCC's website at http://www.occmakeup.com target="new"! Another OCC post will be coming up soon! I've been playing with the OCC Brushes for a quite some time now (both on myself and as well as clients) so I'll be sharing pictures of these & along with my comments.

These products were sent for consideration. Please know I will never EVER rave to you guys about a product I didn't love or wouldn't spend the money on! If you have any questions, please let me know!

Swatches: New OCC Products - Here comes Fall!

Hi Everyone!

I'm here to share with you some EXCITING products OCC (Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics) came out with for this Fall. Right when I got these in the mail over a week ago, I IMMEDIATELY started swatching. Yes, I was THAT excited! Actually, I'm excited with everything this company comes out with to be quite honest (I'm pretty sure you all already knew that haha). I whipped out my dslr, and went swatch crazy! The fall line released on September 10th (to coincide with New York's Fashion Night Out).

A little background on the inspiration for this collection: "NYC-based Makeup Artist and OCC Director of Product Development Katie Pellegrino looked to the darker side of nightlife and the prowlers who reign in the hours before dawn, with a selection of reds and neutrals designed to attract attention. The stigma of wearing a red lip is removed and instead becomes a badge of honor for those who own their look."

**You can click the pictures to enlarge.**

LIP TAR: $12.50 USD
TROLLOP: Vivid cranberry pink
HARLOT: Fiery coral red
STALKER: Intense blue-based red
STRUTTER: Plush mahogany red
STRUMPET: Deep plum-toned red
TRICK: Creme beige neutral

LOOSE COLOUR: $11.50 USD
TWIRL: Pale, pearlescent peach
DOPE: True bronze
SMOTE: Frosted taupe with plum undertones
SATURATE: Aqua with gold & teal reflections
SLAG: Deep gold with green reflections
OBSCURE: White frost with teal/green reflections

NAIL LACQUER: $8.00 USD
TRICK: Pale, pinked beige. A match for Trick Lip Tar.
TWIRL: Golden, pearlescent peach. A match for Twirl Loose Colour.
STRUMPET: Deep, plum-toned red. A match for Strumpet Lip Tar.
VINTAGE: A deep merlot. A match for Vintage Lip Tar.
SOUSE: Dark lavender with gold shimmer.
SOMETHING: A pale and discreet bridal blue.

FIRST IMPRESSION FAVORITES:
LIP TAR: Trick - Who doesn't love an awesome nude lip?! I'll definitely be using this when I want my eyes to catch all the attention. Trollop is so fun & flirty-- I am a BIG fan of corals!! I'll be using this for my lips & my cheeks! Harlot. Oh. Em. Gee. This one caught my eye first. It's so intense and bright-- I'm certain that when you would put this on, someone's going to compliment you! Gorgeous, gorgeous color!

LOOSE COLOUR: I LOVED the Twirl loose colour as SOON as I swatched it. It has a duo-chrome effect to it, its reflects kind of remind me of Rubenesque paint pot, but 1000x better (you neutral fans would love this color!). The camera does NOT capture how pretty this color is. Obscure is also nice, it kind of reminds me of Sugarpill's Lumi-- which I LOVE.

NAIL LACQUER: Vintage completely reminds me of Fall. This will be a color I will be using a lot this season. I am a big fan of the nude nail look, so Trick is on the top of the list as well. OCC's Hush nail lacquer is another nude favorite of mine. I think I'll be using Strumpet on those days I'm feeling girly. I don't wear light blues too much on the nails, but I love that they named named the light blue one "Something"!

QUESTION: Would you like pictures of me actually wearing the different lip tars? I know when I decided on which lip products to buy, I like to see what it looks like on the lips as well. Let me know if this is something you would like to see in the future! I can go ahead and try to do actual lip swatches with these lip tars if you guys want!

These products were sent for consideration. I hope you guys know I will ONLY share products/lines that I REALLY believe in. OCC is DEFINITELY one of them. Check out the 2010 Colour Collection at http://www.occmakeup.com

Jennifer Lopez makeup tutorial - bronzey/neutrals.

Hi guys!

Back with another post finally! I entered a contest hosted by Scott Barnes to recreate a look that Jennifer Lopez was wearing on a issue of Glamour magazine. If I had to pick a celebrity's makeup to wear on a daily basis.. it'd be either Jennifer Lopez's or Kim Kardashian's. Their makeup ALWAYS looks ON POINT. Sooo flawless, ahhh I love it! Scott Barnes has done both of these ladies' makeup... especially Jennifer Lopez.. he's been with her 10+ years and yeah... shaoo! I love it. You can check out his website here: http://www.scottbarnes.com

Here is the picture I based my look on:

This is my take on it. I stuck to the neutrals, and played up on the bronzey/highlighted cheeks... which you can't really notice in the video, but you can tell in some of the pictures.

I hope you guys like it!

Stupid photobucket!

Apologizes to those who are coming to my blog and seeing most of my pictures as unavailable... I'm over bandwidth on stupid photobucket... and I'm not about to pay them some fee for the year... so it'll reset back on the 18th (I think).

Either way I am going to be uploading up onto my flickr eventually and switching them all out so this won't happen.

Anywhoo-- just wanted to let you guys know about that. Hope everyone is doing well!
